Previously released in 2003, in its original form, this wagon is being re-released to coincide with the 900th Anniversary of the town of Cardigan.
Cardigan is famed for being the first place where a National Eisteddfordd was held and the town was granted its charter back in 1110. There were various events to celebrate this anniversary, mostly in August. (I don't know if there is a particular date for it).
The original wagon, based on the Whitland & Cardigan railway bore the number "18", but in this instance, the 150 wagons bear the number "900".
No weathered versions of this wagon were produced, and they carried a variety of loads.
There is still a building on the south side of the River Teifi, that bears the name of "Cardigan Mercantile", 'cast' in letters in concrete on the building's side.
