This wagon is one of two produced for the N-Gauge Society's 40th Anniversary Show at Kettering in September 2007.
Originally produced in 00, this is the only known authentic wagon to have been based in Newcastle Emlyn - my home town. Thomas Thomas was a coal and builders merchant of the town in the early part of the twentieth century.
By 1920 the business was in the name of a Mrs Thomas, so do not know if Thomas was a victim of the first World War.
The N-gauge model was meant to have the usual coal load, but actually have no load at all!
160 of these wagons have been produced by Dapol however 40 of these were sent back to Dapol for weathering in June 2008
The pristine versions of the wagon were finally sold out on May 2 2009 at the Brecon Toyfair whilst the weathered variants lasted until September 26, selling out at the Earley Show.
