This is for a single car Class 153 unit, 153377, in the original livery used by Regional Railways from their introduction in 1991, until the late 1990's. when the privatised companies applied their own liveries. In this guise the units were seen over many areas of the country - particularly in the more rural areas.
The model is fitted for DCC operation and is also 'light-bar-ready', so that if you have item NC040a you can take the roof off and clip the light-bar in place.

According to my invaluable book (Platform 5 "Locomotives and Coaching Stock") 153377 was allocated to Laira, Plymouth. The dummy unit, that Dapol are producing to go nicely with this, is 153328 - allocated to Heaton, Newcastle! So if you are particular about running these two as a pair together........
