First released early in 2005 this wagon proved so popular that a second batch of 100 wagons was released in September 2005.
The first batch were all produced bearing the number "638" but the second batch are using transfers showing other numbers from "631" to "637".
Gresford Colliery was the scene of a terrible mining disaster on 22 September 1934 when over one hundred miners lost their lives following an underground explosion.
A photograph of the friends and relatives waiting for news of the miners at the pit head also shows wagon numbered "638" and it is this number that appears on the models that I have had produced.
A total of 229 wagons were produced, the last ones being sold in February 2006.
