No: 14: Thomas Thomas of Newcastle Emlyn

This wagon represents that of a builders merchant in Newcastle Emlyn who occupied a site adjacent to the station.

For this reason, Bryn Phillips, of Cellan near Lampeter, produced a variety of wagon loads which included:-
  • Coils of rope  (24)
  • Thick planks   (27)
  • Thin planks     (22)
  • Boxes of tools - black & grey (27)
  • Boxes of tools - plain wooden (23)
  • Gravel              (25)
  • Pipes                (25)
  • Chimney Pots  (23)

However Thomas Thomas was also a coal merchant so it was quite likely that these wagons were just used for coal being imported to the area.

One of these wagons is now in Hanes Emlyn - the museum of the town which is open during the tourist season.

Dapol produced 198 of these models in the summer of 2004.
