This is for two single car Class 153 units, 153377 and 153328, in the original livery used by Regional Railways from their introduction in 1991, until the late 1990's. when the privatised companies applied their own liveries. In this guise the units were seen over many areas of the country - particularly in the more rural areas.
153377 is motorised, whilst 153328 is a dummy unit. The purchase of these two together represents a considerable financial saving on purchasing them separately.
The models are fitted for DCC operation and are also 'light-bar-ready', so that if you have item NC040a you can take the roof off and clip the light-bar in place.
According to my invaluable book (Platform 5 "Locomotives and Coaching Stock") 153377 was allocated to Laira, Plymouth. The dummy unit, that Dapol are producing to go nicely with this, is 153328 - allocated to Heaton, Newcastle! So if you are particular about running these two as a pair together........
