  2010 Programme - N

In 2010 I intended to produce a wagon for spring, another for Autumn and finally one for Christmas.

First on the blocks will be a copy of a wagon that is being done in 00 for the model railway show in Mirfield, Yorkshire, namely "Edward Sutcliffe" of Mirfield.  This should be with me in May.

It will be September before the second wagon, again a copy of an 00 equivalent, appears - this being "Ministry of Munitions" - with small lettering that links the wagon to the Banbury area.  This is being done for both the Earley (Reading) and Banbury Shows at the end of the month.

Finally, there will be my wagon for Christmas - any ideas, or shall I follow Horby's lead and do one for Christmas 2010?

Dapol

The new catalogue shows a wealth of items for the N-gauge modeller - primarily, it would seem, for the modern-image enthusiast.

Such is the pace of change, that no sooner was the catalogue out, then they announced the production of an 8-plank coal wagon.  However there was more to this than initially met the eye.  A new company to N-gauge had contacted me, and others of course, asking if I wanted to do a limited edition wagon through them.  I was naturally cautious and said that I would wait until they had actually produced something for me to see.  Then it was noticed, by sharp-eyed N-gauge enthusiasts, that three wagons were being done for "a customer".  "Who might that be?", we all wondered.  Then Dapol announced their first three 8-plank wagons, and guess what, they were the same designs - Littleton Colliery; Partington Steel; and Hatfield Main.  It turns out that Helikon, were doing them for Dapol.
Now here is the quandry.
Doesn't Dapol pride itself on doing the production in the UK?
--------
New items produced either recently, or in the pipeline, are the Settle & Carlisle Class 156 unit; another 2-tone green Hymek, with small yellow warning panel; Pendolino Mk 3 2nd Class coaches ("Second"?) and First Class ones in a book set; Class 153 units in Regional Railways livery.

Here is the list of NEW DAPOL items that will be coming my way soon.  If you want to pre-order any of these items, either visit the SHOP section or send me an email.
